Lloyd William Filkins, Jr. was born in Bliss, MO on March 12, 1942 a son to Marion (nee Deering) and Lloyd William Filkins, Sr. He died at his Hillsboro home on August 22, 2016 at the age of 74. He is survived by he mother who lives in De Soto; his wife Brenda (nee Coleman) Filkins, Hillsboro; one son Ronald (Deanna) Filkins, Nevada, MO; and five grandchildren: Dustin, Drew, Derek, Daylayna, and Danyel; three great-grandchildren, Jaden, Justin, and Jeremy. He is preceded in death by his father and two brothers: Ronald Filkins and Gary Filkins. After serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War he worked for AT&T and retired from Southwestern Bell as a lineman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church-De Soto and the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association. The Rev. Dr, Jeremy Muniz will officiate the funeral service.
