Kathy Sue Hovis was born November 16, 1948 in Cabool, MO. She was the daughter of Rev. Milton I. and Ruth G. (nee Suggs) Elmore. She died on February 17, 2020 at The Arbors at Mattis Pointe, St. Louis, MO at the age of 71 years. She is survived by her husband, Dennis C. Hovis, De Soto, MO; two sons, Kevin D. (Jennifer) Hovis, St. Louis, MO and David K. (Heather) Hovis, De Soto, MO; siblings, Beth A. (Greg) Lewis, Pace, FL, Patty L. (Gary) Caswell, Independence, MO, Rebecca J. (Darryl) Prater, Overland Park, KS; sister-in-law, Mary Anne Elmore, Liberty, MO; grandchildren, Hannah & Devin Hovis; Madyson (Petty Officer 1st Class, Nick) Moore, Brayden (Autumn) Hovis, and Aubree Hark. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, N. Keith Elmore. Kathy was a member of the PEO; Carita Singers, and she was a sign language interpreter. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church, De Soto, MO where she had began a prayer shawl ministry. Kathy was the office manager at Hovis & Associates.
