Johnny E. Tarrants was born in Canalou on July 7, 1940 a son to William E. and Opal M. (nee Lacey) Tarrants. He died June 14, 2014 at Mercy Hospital-Jefferson at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Opal Elaine (nee Noyes) Tarrants; two daughters: Lori (Brian) Mayer, Hillsboro, and Sherry Tarrants, Hillsboro; four grandchildren: Brandi (David) Snodgrass, Courtney (Sam) Weber, Meagan Hendel, and Kristen Mayer; three great-grandchildren: Emma, Chase, and Luke; and two brothers: Billy (the late Brenda) Tarrants, Bucyrus and Michael Tarrants, Cape Girardeau. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Maralyn Ceplina, Donna (Bill survives) Curry, and Lavada (the late Donald) Greer. He served in the United States Navy. After working for 33 years at the Chrysler Assembly Plant in Fenton where he was a member of U.A.W. Local #110 he retired to his rural Hillsboro home.. Brother Ron Duncan will officiate the services.
