Please accept my condolence on the loss of your dear loved one. What helped me was what the Bible says at John 5 : 28-29 a beautiful promise we will see our love ones again. May God comfort you during this sadness.2corinthians 1 : 3 and 4.

No matter the age of a person, death is a terrible thing. My heart is grieved at the loss of your beloved wife, mother, and grandmother (and beyond). One question that haunts many of us at the death of a beloved one, is if they are suffering or not. The Bible provides the answer plainly. When Jesus’ friend Lazarus died, he compared the state of death to “sleep”. (John 11:11-13) Like sleep, death is a state of complete absence of thought and activity. There is no suffering or pain. How thankful we can be to Jehovah for not leaving us in the dark on this and many more important questions. I sincerely wish you all support and comfort in the universe. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4)

Joan was a vivacious woman, a mother who was present for her children and if I recall correctly a person who.played an active part in politics during the family's years in Monett MO. Sorry to hear of her passing as she will be missed!
