Joan Anne Cassady was born July 5, 1943 in Old Mines, MO. She was the daughter of John “Tony” Jr. and Edna Dorothy (nee Thebeau) Villmer. She died on September 4, 2025 in De Soto, MO at the age of 82 years. She is survived by her son, James L. Pratt, Jr.; daughter, Jacqueline Ann (Edward) Schmaltz, De Soto, MO; six grandchildren, Brittany (Neill) Burchett, Annie (Mike) Hall, Amanda (Phil) King, James “Bo” (Jennifer) Pratt, III, Tyler (Hayley) Iwasyszyn, and Colton (Abi) Pratt; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bernis Villmer of Kansas and Dave (Christina) Villmer, Sullivan, MO; and one sister, Mary Lou (Dave) Speidel, De Soto, MO. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon H. Cassady; two brothers, Thomas Villmer and Glennon Villmer; sisters-in-law, Jackie Villmer and Helen Villmer. Joan worked as a machine operator at Koller Craft and she owned Cassady’s Corner Greenhouses. She was a member of Kress Farms Garden Club.
