Jerome David “J.D.” Koch was born in De Soto on January 19, 1933 a son to Aloysius J. “Al” and Maude (nee Johnson) Koch.  He died at his De Soto home on October 9, 2023 at the age of 90.  He is survived by his children: Julie Hedley, De Soto, Jim (Linette) Koch, Hillsboro and Lori Koch, Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren: Amber (Brandon) Link and Raymond Koch; a great granddaughter Alyce Link and a special friend Kim “Stalker” Walker.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Lois (nee Cross) Koch his second wife Roberta “Bertie” (nee Fairless) Koch; his son in law Harley Hedley; one sister Kathleen (Gordon) Higgins and three brothers: Robert (Alice) Koch, Donnell “Deno” (Betty Jean) Koch and Frank (Marilyn) Koch.  J.D. served in the United States Army and the Missouri Army National Guard.  He had retired after working for over 50 years as a real estate agent.  He was a member of AmVets Post #48 and Mt. Olive United Methodist Church.  As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Journey Community Church, 820 N. Main St., De Soto, MO.
