James Eldon Douglas was born on August 14, 1929 in Bonne Terre, MO.  He was the son of James W. & Elizabeth (nee Watt) Douglas.  He died on December 23, 2019 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson at the age of 90.

He is survived by his sons, James (Tammy) Douglas of Cedar Hill,  Gary (Beverly) Douglas of Lonedell, MO; and Paul Douglas of Mt. Clemens, MI; stepdaughter, Frances Detter of De Soto; 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Elsie L. Douglas and Louise Douglas; and to stepchildren, Frank Votruba and Dennis Whitby.

James was the owner of Douglas Sign Company and was retired from McDonnell Douglas.  Served in the United Stated Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW Post 6516 High Ridge.  He was also a member of the Church of God of House Springs.
