Ila Norman Kite was born August 17, 1916 in De Soto a son to John and Ida (Able) Kite.  He died at the Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto on October 16, 2011 at the age of 95.  He is survived by his son: Mark (Gina) Kite, Villa Ridge; his daughter: Diane (Mark) Madding, Hillsboro; four grandchildren: Kim (Marty) Elbl, Festus, Justin (Erin) Madding, De Soto, Jennifer (Daniel) Kurzhals, De Soto, and Laurie (Brandon) Cox, Daphne, AL; seven great-grandchildren: Kaitlin, Jacob, Lauren, Jessica, Josephine, Abigail, and Audrey; three siblings: Lorraine (Roy) Puckett, Arnold, Dovie Kite, De Soto, and Alvie Kite, Florissant; a daughter-in-law Kay Kite, De Soto; and two sisters-in-law: Ann Kite, Otto and Ruth Kite, Leadwood.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Violet Eula (nee King) Kite; one son: Wayne Kite; and ten siblings: Darrell Kite, Beulah Blazer, Velma Hoyt, Arl Kite, Vivian Kite, Thalbert Kite, Vernon Kite, Adalia Kite, Ura Kite, and Tharrell Kite.  Mr. Kite owned and operated Kite Shoe Repair and Sales in De Soto until his retirement and was an Elder in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses – De Soto.  Daniel Kurzhals will speak at the memorial with interment to follow in the De Soto City Cemetery.
