Gloria Lee Rainey was born March 11, 1930 in St. Louis a daughter to Finnis and Bertha (nee Lappe) Anderson. She died December 16, 2011 at the Presbyterian Manor in Farmington at the age of 81. She is survived by her daughters: Linda (Martin) Conell, Ironton, Maureen (David) Hartmann, Fenton, Paula (Allen) Day, Mineral Point, and Donna (Michael) Knighton, French Village; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Orville “Bud” Rainey; and two brothers: Gene and Richard Anderson. A long time citizen of Hematite Mrs. Rainey had served as Treasurer for the Hematite Methodist Church, was a Girl Scout Leader, and was very civic minded. She also was a motor inspector for the Soundalier Corporation of Festus. Derrick Meek, Chaplain for Presyterian Hospice of Mid-America will officiate the service with burial to follow at the Hematite Methodist Cemetery.
