Glenn L. Brod was born in De Soto on July 30, 1936 a son to Oliver John “Jim” and Cecilia Claire “Sis” Brod. He died on March 21, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson at the age of 85.  Upon graduating from Rankin Tech Glenn owned and operated Southend Auto Repair and De Soto Glass Company and had retired after working as a mechanic for several auto dealers in Jefferson County and St. Louis. Glenn was a very active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in De Soto.  He was also one of the founders and original staff members of the Valle Ambulance District and served on the De Soto City Fire Department.  He currently was a member of B.P.O.E. #689 and had been a member of the De Soto Jaycee’s and Chamber of Commerce.  He enjoyed being outdoors whether it be working on the family farm in Blackwell or gardening, fishing or at deer camp.  He also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles.  He is survived by three daughters: Cindi (George) Dickinson, De Soto, Peggy (Richard “Dickie”) Day, De Soto and Betty Brod, De Soto; his grandchildren: Troy Dickinson, Matthew Dickinson, Rob Day, April Sechrest, Mary Brod, Jonathan Brod, Amber Brod, Darian Dirschuweit, Patra Dirschuweit and Kaig Dirschuweit; great grandchildren: Hunter Sechrest, Luisa Isidro, Mathew Brod, Charlotte Nettles, Henry Cannon, Sophia Cannon, and Frances Ward,  and step great grandchildren: James Ward, III, Ephraim Ward, Illonna Ward, Gabriel Ward and Arizona Ward.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanenne Ellen (nee Thompson) Brod; one son Alan Brod; and one brother David Brod whose wife Nancy survives living in Blackwell.  As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 4400 Clayton Road, St. louis, MO 63110 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis,  TN 38105.
