Gilbert W. Wester was born on January 18, 1930 in St. Louis, MO. He was the son of the late William Wester and Marie Hoffmiester. He died on February 7, 2014 at his residence in Bloomsdale, MO at the age of 84.
He is survived by his children, Celeste (Blaine) Bourbon – French Village, MO; Christine (Mike) Beffa of Festus, MO; Guy Wester of Pevely, MO; Cheryl Huffman of French Village, MO; and Cindy (Jim) Donze of Ste. Genevieve, MO; one brother, Joe Wester of Grubville, MO; and sister Loretta of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Danny, Rachel, Michael, Kim, Jessica, Nicole, Gabriel, Jennifer, Matthew & Josh; Great Grandchildren: Priscilla, Harrison, Elizabeth, Preston, Tyler, Natalie, Chelsea, Jillian, MacKenzie, Sarah, Hailee, Atlyn, Callie, and Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Virginia (nee Wood) Wester; his parents, brother, Tom Hoffmeister, one great granddaughter, Megan.
Gilbert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retired truck driver, one of the best. There wasn’t anything too big for him. If they said you can’t get that in there, he’d say move over and made it happen.
