Gertrude Dismukes was born on March 14, 1919 in Athens, AL. She was the daughter of Oscar and Lillie (nee Blankenship) Lovell. She died on July 20, 2014 at her residence in Festus, MO at the age of 95.
She is survived by her daughter Betty (Fred) Marler-Schmitt of Festus, MO; and daughter, Gail (Mike) Guilfoyle of Low Point, IL; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Clayton Bates, 2nd husband, J.D. Dismukes; one son, Deral Bates; brothers and sisters; and 2 great grandchildren.
She was a member of De Soto Church of Christ. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Mercy Hospice – Jefferson.
