Franklin Pearce McMurry, Jr. was born on May 6, 1926 in Pontotoc, MS. He was the son of Franklin Pearce Sr. & Lillie (Griffin) McMurry. He died on June 8, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City, MO at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 2 days.
He is survived by his daughter Lynne (Danny) White of De Soto, two grandchildren, Denis (Christine) White of De Soto & Colissa (Steve) Alexander of De Soto, and three great grandchildren, Christopher White, Brandon White, & Sarah Alexander.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley (nee Gamel) McMurry, one grandchild, David McMurry White, and three siblings, John McMurry, O’Nell Spears, & Edward McMurry.
Mr. McMurry served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post 253, VFW Post 3777, and a supporter of Disabled American Veterans. Frank owned and operated Jeffco Sanitary Engineering. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Soto. Interment @ Methodist Cemetery in Festus, MO.
