Florence Carolyn Mecey was born in Desloge on April 3, 1925 and daughter to James and Sadie (nee Strickland) Rawson. She died at her rural De Soto home on November 14, 2021 at the age of 96. She is survived by two sons: Don Mecey, De Soto and Alan (Pat) Mecey, Fredericktown; her grandchildren: Scott Mecey, Eric (Julia Pettus) Mecey, Tracy (Rich) Hines, and Karla (the late Scott) Miller; great grandchildren: Carter Mecey, Tyler Hines, Emma Hines, Wyatt Hines, Damien Miller and Elley Miller; a son in law Karl Scott; and one sister Darlene Sansoucie. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred R. Mecey; her daughter Carolyn Scott; six sisters: Ruth DeGeare, Marie Schott, Marge Jackson, Pearl Hart, Geraldine Mullens and Gertrude Lyons and five brothers: Orville Rawson, Arthur Rawson, Delbert Rawson, Donald Rawson and Earl Rawson.
