Eugene Young was born June 14, 1929 in De Soto, MO. He was the son of William Thomas Sr. and Dela (nee Starns) Young. He died on September 15, 2017 at his residence in De Soto, MO at the age of 88 years. He is survived by his wife, L. Joyce (nee McMullin) Young, De Soto, MO; children, Cindy Young, Crystal City, MO; Gerald (Shirley) Young, De Soto, MO: Sharon (Mark) Meyer, Crystal City, MO: Mark Young, Pevely, MO; and Richard Young, De Soto, MO; one sister, Betty Maness of Florida; grandchildren, Nicole (Jim) Turnbull, Shannon (Becky) Young, Jarrod (Vicky) Young, Megan Young, Kati Akins; and Preston (Wendy) Young; great-grandchildren, Storm, Austin, Madison, Grace, Paige, and Karter; and one great-great grandchild, Riley. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Earl Young, Violet Huskey, Sylvia Evans, Kathleen Ellerd, William Young, Jr., Georgia Nienauber, and Margaret Autry. Eugene served in the U.S. Army; worked at Schnucks, and retired from General Motors. He was a member of the UAW Local #2250; and United Food and Commercial Workers Local #655.
