Elmer C. “Boodie” Irwin was born May 4, 1930 in De Soto, MO. He was the son of David B. and Lillian (nee Hague) Irwin. He died on September 28, 2015 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his children, Daniel Irwin, De Soto, MO and Timothy Irwin, De Soto, MO; one sister, Dorothy “Dot” Willett, De Soto, MO; grandchildren, Brian Irwin; Boone (Summer) Legate, and Jesse (Emmylou) Irwin, great grandchild, Allene Louise Irwin. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alline (nee Wright) Irwin; three sisters, Grace Derickson, Mary O’Shea, and Shirley Sansoucie; one brother, David “Buck” Irwin. Boodie was owner/operator of Boodie’s Market/Restaurant in De Soto, MO. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War; life member of Amvets Post #48 and a member of Carpenters Local 2214.
