Dorothy Lee Harris Akins, age 80, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2012 in Richmond, VA.  Born February 28, 1932 in De Soto, MO, she was the daughter of the late Inez (nee Thurman) and Ephraim Harris of Desoto, MO.  She is survived by son Glenn L. (Betsy) Akins of Richmond, VA, son Timothy W. (Nancy) Akins of Winston Salem, NC and daughter Lori E. Akins (Greg Schmidt) of St. Charles, MO;  four grandchildren:  Andrew Akins of  Pittsburgh, PA, Holly Akins of Richmond, VA, Molly Akins of Winston-Salem, NC  and Spencer Akins of Winston-Salem, NC:  many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Glenn Akins, sister, Wilma Hill, Brother, Norvel Harris, and daughter Kathy Akins.  She was a loving mother, sister and wife who is reunited with many in heaven.
