Doris Jean Dierks was born in De Soto on September 5, 1935 a daughter to James Washington and Thelma Marie (nee Baker) Christian. She died at her rural De Soto home on November 23, 2011 at the age of 76. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Clifford Dierks; their children: Mike (Terri) Dierks, Hillsboro, Helen (Glen) Owen, Springfield, Mark Dierks, De Soto, and Patricia (Ron) Drake, Clinton, OK; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister: Charlotte (Bud) Gordon, Hillsboro; daughter-in-law Shelly Dierks, Lonedell; brother-in-laws: John Schneedle and Frank Rogers, both of De Soto; and one sister-in-law: Jeri Christian, Festus. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son: Martin Dierks; siblings: Mary Rogers, Virginia Nappier, Dolores Schneedle, David Christian, and George Christian; one brother-in-law Clayton Nappier; and sister-in-law Glenda Christian. She worked for International Shoe Company, Precision Packaging as a press operator, and most recently for Jefferson Square Cleaners.
