Donald H. Armbruster, Sr., age 80,  of De Soto, died on February 28, 2023 at his home. He was the son of William Henry and Irene B. Armbruster.  Donald worked for Quintin’s Carpet and Tile in De Soto for 25 years before purchasing the business at Quintin’s retirement.  With his nephew as his partner they operated the business for 9 years before Donald’s retirement.  Donald was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church most of his life and made sure the grass was cut and was the main handyman for the Church.  He was also the Treasurer of the Mt. Olive Cemetery Association since 1967.  Donald enjoyed many activities over the years, fishing, hunting, bowling and golf.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Armbruster, two children, Joanna L. (Mark) Thomas of St. Louis County and Donald H. (Amy) Armbruster, Jr. of De Soto; a brother Ronald N. Armbruster of De Soto; five grandchildren: A. J. (Kim) Reichel, Brad (Krystal) Reichel,  Chad (Alicia) Reichel, Hannah (Logan) Armbruster and Steven (Dakota) Dorsey; eight great grandchildren: Alyssa A. Reichel, Samantha J. Reichel, Addilynn N. Reichel, Colton A. Reichel, Alexis Baumgardner, Blake A. Reichel, Emersyn I. Armbruster and Leon Dorsey.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son in law Alan C.
