Darlene E. Dowe was born in De Soto on August 10, 1935 a daughter to Ward E. and Deloris J. (nee Hester) Blanks. She passed peacefully at her De Soto home on June 16, 2013 at the age of 77. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Kenneth Dowe; her children: Karl “Squeak” Gray, Oak Hill, West Virginia, Kenneth Dowe, II, Kansas City, MO, and Vanessa Dowe, De Soto; her sisters; Evelyn Cook, Festus, and Peggy Bingham, De Soto; ten grandchildren; and seven great -grandchildren. Family members who have previously passed include her parents; one brother Donald Blanks, and two brothers-in-law; Ernest Cook and Donald Bingham.
