Corliss L. Stroup was born in St. Louis on October 11, 1926 a daughter to Joseph and Dorothy (nee Minor) Perkins. She died at her De Soto home on May 12, 2020 at the age of 93. She is survived by four children: Josephine Dunn, De Soto, Charles “Angelo” Valenti, Pittsburgh, PA, Anita (Michael Ortmann) Glad, Crestwood, and Bernard “Geno” (Cheryl) Valenti, II, Festus; two step-children: Lisa (Darrell) Orr, St. Louis and James C. (Lisa) Stroup, St. Charles; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Bernard Valenti and James Stroup; one son Harry Grummell; a son-in-law David Glad; and a sister Bertha Barnes. As an expression of sympathy memorials may be made to the St. Rose of Lima Church, 504 South 3rd St., De Soto, MO 63020.
