- Funeral Procession to form at the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 10:00 AM to leave at 10:45 AM to travel to Woodlawn Cemetery, De Soto, MO for a 11:00AM Graveside Service officiated by Larry Allison.
Charles “Charlie” Watkins was born in Ripley, TN on February 4, 1930 a son to Ben and Fannie Watkins. He died at his rural De Soto home on April 30, 2020 at the age of 90. He is survived by his children: Rose Alexander, Festus, Kathy Amell, De Soto, Charlene Hackett, De Soto, Frank Watkins, De Soto, John (Linda) Watkins, De Soto, Patricia (Scott) Schmitz, Pevely, and Jerry (Chandy) Watkins, Hillsboro; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son David Watkins; one brother William and two sisters: Nora and Lela May. Charlie had retired from the General Motors Automobile manufacturing plant in St. Louis and was a member of the Gospel Light Free Will Baptist Church.
