Charles L. Pica, age 88, of De Soto, formerly of Chicago Heights, IL died on August 6, 2020 at Hillcrest Care Center. He was born on December 12, 1931 a son to Aqualino and Sandy (nee Ruggeri) Pica. Charles served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and had retired from Union Pacific Railroad as a carman/welder. He was Past Commander of V.F.W. Post #8283, Steger, IL. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, AmVets Post #48, B.P.O.E. #689 and the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America. He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Pica, Steger, IL; two sons: Richard “Rick” Pica, De Soto and Greg (Karen) Pica, Joppa, AL; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister Ann Lutgen, Schererville, IN and one brother Mario Pica, South Chicago Heights, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Myra (nee Winn) Pica; a daughter-in-law Cheryl Pica; and one brother Gene Pica.
