Billie R. Vancil was born July 9, 1932 in Malden, MO. He was the son of James and Gerta (nee Taylor) Vancil. He died on August 26, 2022 at Union Care Center in Union, MO at the age of 90 years. He is survived by his wife, Margie (nee Brown) Vancil, Union, MO; one son, Terry (Peggy) Vancil, Oro Valley, AZ; four grandchildren, Shelly Assali, Leslie Heverns, Tim Bess, and Abby Bess; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley, Jacob, Alora, and Brook, and great-great grandchildren, Jaxson and Bodhi; one son-in-law, Mark Bess, Eugene, OR; step-children, Tammy (Bob) Crews, Union, MO; Kelly Hurstin, Bozeman, MT, and Tina (Brian) Stuesse, Pensecola, FL and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Peggy Vancil; one daughter, Jacqueline “Sue” Bess; and nine siblings. Billie worked as a truck driver for Teamsters local 600. He was a member of the Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church and previously a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, De Soto, MO; he also volunteered for Helping Hands Ministry. As an expression of sympathy memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
