Betty Cecelia Bone was born in Cadet on August 19, 1932 a daughter of Joseph O. and Ida M. (Politte) Portell. She died at her De Soto home on July 1, 2023 at the age of 90. She is survived by her children: Kent Bone, Beverly Bone, Robert (Shelia) Bone, Mike Bone, Barb (Shawn) Reece, Bunnie (Dave) Taylor and Charlie Bone; her grandchildren: Colby (Sam) Bone, Wesley (Kayla) Bone, Jaclyn (Tyson) Davis, Cole Reece, Clay Reece, Corey Bone, Brandi Robertson and Brad (Katie) Taylor; 10 great grandchildren and one sister Jenny Bayless. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Orville “Dudy” Bone, one son Phillip Bone, two sisters: Rose Cavin and Marie Robart and four brothers: Joseph Portell, Phillip Portell, Paul Portell and James Portell. Betty had retired as a cook for the De Soto Public School System and was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella Circle #659. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to: St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 504 S. 3rd St., De Soto, MO  63020 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
