Bernie Lawrence Tenney, Jr. was born in Ironton on September 15, 1935 a son to Sadie (nee Richardson) and Bernie Lawrence Tenney, Sr.  He died at Hillcrest Care Center on May 20, 2019 at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife Lois (nee Spitzer) Tenney who lives in De Soto; two daughters: Marjorie (Stephen) Dixon, O’Fallon, MO and Patricia (David) Gehris, St. Peter’s, MO; four grandchildren: Jacob (Jennifer) Dixon, Samantha Dixon, Joshua (Rachel) Tanner, and Kyle Green; five great-grandchildren: Gavin, Arielle, Jasmine, Ava, and Alli; a step-sister: Elaine (Lyle) Bryant, De Soto; and a step-brother: Richard “Dick” (the late Claudine) Reynolds, Paola, KS.  He is preceded in death by his parents; a wife Linda (nee Wood) Tenney; and a granddaughter Nicole Tanner.  Bernie served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was retired as a manager for Hopson Lumber Company and was very involved in the activities of the First Assembly God Church in De Soto.
