Barbara Marie Haas was born in Crystal City on November 1, 1920 a daughter to Lillie Pearl (nee Heaton) and Aubrey Edward Vaughn, Sr. She died on May 3, 2016 at the Hillcrest Care Center, De Soto at the age of 95. She is survived by three daughters: Judy (Joe) Jinkerson Warden, De Soto, Carol (David) Agers, De Soto, and Susan (Alan) Politte, Festus; a daughter-in-law: Patricia Haas, De Soto; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Aubrey (Norma) Vaughn, Jr. Ft. Walton Beach, Fl; and one sister-in-law: Margie Vaughn, Alton, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Herman Arthur Haas; one son: Richard Haas; a great-grandson: Tim Agers; one sister: Lillie Gewinner and her husbad Robert; and two brothers: Albert Vaughn and Milton “Mickey” Vaughn, Sr. and his wife Betty; and a son-in-law, Charles Jinkerson. She had retired as the library secretary for Athena School and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She enjoyed quilting and had hosted Sunday Night Prayer Meetings at her home for over thirty years until she was no longer able. John Davis, Pastor of the Refuge Church, De Soto will officiate the services.
