February 25, 1916 - February 16, 2007
Arlon Leon Shaw was born February 25, 1916, in Greene County, Arkansas, a son to Denver Theodore and Ella (nee Wilson) Shaw. He died February 16, 2007, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County, Missouri, having reached the age of 90 years 11 months and 22 days.
He was united in marriage to Edith Lucille Hanna and to this union three children were born.
He is survived by his children: Michael (Jennifer) Shaw, Cincinnati, Ohio; Patrick (Tracy Montauk) Shaw, St. Louis, Missouri; and Melissa (Chuck) Herrmann, Hillsboro, Missouri; one brother: Eugene Shaw, O’Fallon, Missouri and two sisters, Betty Sanders, Paragould, Arkansas, and Billie Ruth Herron, Rock Island, IL; three grandchildren: Hannah and Liam Shaw and Aaron Herrmann.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Ella Mae Shaw and ten brothers and sisters, Ozie Fox, Willis Shaw, Vernetta King, Elbert Shaw, Opal Franks, Doris Montgomery, Darrell Shaw, Herbert Shaw, Mattie Shaw and Jewel Shaw.
He served in the US Army during WWII. He is a member of VFW Post #1831 De Soto, Missouri. Before retirement he was employed as a Tool Dispatcher at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft (now Boeing Aircraft). He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Hillsboro.
