Albert Ladd,
April 16, 1924 - March 28, 2012
Albert “Sonny” Ladd, Jr. was born on April 16, 1924 in De Soto, MO. He was the son of Albert & Lucy K. (Gowan) Ladd, Sr. He died on March 28, 2012 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO at the age of 87.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (nee Johnston) Ladd of De Soto; two daughters, Melinda (Ken) Sisson of De Soto; and Tammy (Bill) Menkhus of Festus;6 grandchildren, Cody Sisson, Blair (Jessica) Sisson, Kelly Sisson, Stacy (Jon) Eisenbeis, Steven (Kacie Kernebeck) Menkhus, & Justin Menkhus; 8 Great Grandchildren, Madison, Logan, Nolan, Quinn, Caden, Kyndal, Courtney & Erik; one bother, Gordon (Karen) Ladd of Florida, a sister, Catherine Dapron of Santee, CA; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Ladd of De Soto, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and six siblings, Albertine Ladd, Alba Parobek, Burton Ladd, Loma Lesage, Alta Ladd, and Wendath Ladd.
Mr. Ladd served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, retired from the Missouri Army National Guard, Served on the De Soto School Board for eight years,and was a charter member of the Amvets Post #48. He retired from the United States Postal Service, worked at the City of De Soto Water Department, and the Missouri Pacific Railroad.
Rev. Gene Moses will officiate the funeral service with entombment to follow at the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
