  • Interment: Victoria Cemetery immediately following the funeral service on Monday.

Willie Carter Stephens was born in Ellsinore, MO on August 7, 1940 to Walter Madison and Zelphia Margaret (nee Johnson) Stephens. He died at Mercy South Hospital on June 27, 2019 at the age of 78. 

He is survived by his wife Norma (nee Lanemann) Stephens; two children: John (Michelle) Stephens and Stefanie Stephens; and a granddaughter, Lyla Stephens, all of De Soto; sisters Marie (George) Hermann of Maryland Heights; Ruba (Alex) Keel; one sister-in-law Gloria Stephens both of Florissant.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Sherdan and Kenneth and a sister Bonnie. Willie served in the US Air Force; worked as a salesman for 28 yrs at Glasco Electric; then as a Plant Operating Engineer at the Ameren-Meramec Power Plant. He was a long-time member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church; member of the Operating Engineers Local #148; and the Hillsboro Civic Club.
