It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronnie Mabery, of DeSoto, formerly of Ironton. A man with a heart of gold. He passed away on March 1, 2026 at the age of 79.
Ronnie was a beloved member of a large and devoted family who cherished him deeply throughout his life. Born on December 16, 1946 he brought warmth, sincerity, and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ronnie had an extraordinary gift for connection. He had a warmth about him that drew people in and a smile so genuine and bright that it was truly contagious. He never forgot a face and had a memory for the details that mattered – birthdays, stories, small moments, and the things that made each person special.
Ronnie loved his company. He welcomed everyone with kindness and love leaving a lasting impression on his friends, caregivers, and family alike. His presence was a source of comfort and happiness, and his gentle spirit enriched everyone around him.
Ronnie was known for his warm smile and his love for his family. His family was large with 20 siblings and 70 nieces and nephews. He knew them all and loved them hard. That love was returned by all. Ronnie was loved by his family at Hillcrest Nursing Home-who cared for him for the last 4 years.
Ronnie worked at a sheltered workshop and participated in the Special Olympics when he was younger.
Ronnie is survived by: brother Bryan (wife Becky) Mabery, sister Sharon (the late Ken) Belew, sister in law Alice Mabery and brother in law Clarence Kohut. 60 plus nieces and nephews, numerous great, great-great, great-great-great nieces and nephews, numerous family members and friends and his former housemates Tom Adams and Kelly Allan.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Velma (Govro) and Ralph Mabery; brothers and spouses: Leroy (Gladys & Frances) Mabery, Virgil (Roxie) Mabery, Bural (Nellie) Mabery, Emili Mabery, Donald Mabery, Roland (Betty) Mabery, Warren (Margie) Mabery and Melvin Mabery.

Though he is no longer with us, the love he shared and the love he gave so freely will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics
