Joseph Henry Scott was born May 14, 1943 in Crystal City. He died May 18, 2013 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife Brenda (nee Street) Scott, Festus, who he married on June 1, 1991 in Festus; his son Mark (Kim) Scott, De Soto; two grandsons: Matthew Scott and Andrew Scott; six sisters: Alma Asbury, Chester, Il,Wilma Scott, Labadie, Earline Whitter, Festus, Connie Williams, De Soto, Linda McGonan, Bonne Terre, and Barbara Frost, Cedar Hill; and two brothers: Wayne Scott, Las Vegas, NV, and Howard Scott, Festus. He is preceded in death by his father: Rudolph Joseph Scott; his mother: Stella Mae (nee Landcaster) Scott Priest; and two sisters: Laverne Thebeau and Carolene Valle. He had worked for over 20 years as an ironworker and then at the Venture Store in Crystal City before taking his current position in the meat department at the Festus Wal-Mart. He served in the United States Army and was a member of V.F.W. Post 5331, Cedar Hill. He also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzels. Rev. Larry Addison of the Raintree Church will officiate the services.
