James Franklin Westfall passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends at his Ware farm on August 19, 2024 at the age of 87.  He was born in Kennett on October 30, 1936 a son to Benjamin Franklin “Frank” and Bessie Mae (nee Pilkenton) Westfall.  He is survived by his wife Judy Lee (nee Montgomery) Westfall;  a dear friend Stephanie Votran; two granddaughters Whitney (Sam) Stephenson and Meckenzie Westfall; two great granddaughters: Brie and Brooke; and a host of “neighbors” as well as his Grandview School and Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church families.  He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Bob Westfall and Bryan Westfall and three sisters: Virginia McGinnis, Ada Balter and Naomi Tucker.  Jim had served in the Missouri National Guard.  He had retired after teaching for 30 years and driving a school bus for 47 years for the Grandview School District.  He also drove for Huskey Bus Service, raised cattle on his Ware farm, was a pilot and enjoyed traveling.  As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church of the Jefferson County Cattlemen’s Association to help support local 4-H and F.F.A. chapters.
