Hilda Bernice Saylor was born February 4, 1932 in Carrier Mills, IL. She was the daughter of Bert and Virgie (nee Cranmer) Howard. She died on June 24, 2021 at Crystal Oaks Long Term Care, Festus, MO at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her children, Rev. Christine Saylor, De Soto, MO; Roger (Rhonda) Saylor, De Soto, MO; Kevin Sr. (Marilyn) Saylor, De Soto, MO; Dennis (Connie) Saylor, De Soto, MO; and Howard Saylor, De Soto, MO; one sister, Phyllis (George) Graesfer, Florissant, MO; one brother, Jesse James Howard, St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Kyle (Lily) Saylor, Maggie Saylor, Kevin Bruce (Joy) Saylor, Jr.; Elizabeth Saylor; and Keith (Jessie) Saylor; and two great-grandchildren, Evaleigh and Bradley. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clarence Ray Saylor. Hilda graduated from Jefferson College with her Associate of Arts degree. She worked as a substitute teacher for Sunrise School District and was active in the Sunrise School PTA; she also worked at Grants in Festus, MO. Hilda was a member of AARP; and a member of the Park View Baptist Church, De Soto, MO. She loved to sing, garden, bake, and won many ribbons at the Jefferson County Fair.
