I was deeply saddened when I heard this news on Wednesday during our Adult Choir Practice at Our Lady. My prayers and heart goes out to his family, Kim, Elijah and Emma. I came to know of Ed and his family during the RCIA process, he was in the class the year following my sponsorship and his whole family is so kind and warm to talk to. Elijah and I chat all the time after Mass. If there is anything you need from me, please let me know

The first time I met Ed was at Elijah’s trap practice, while talking I asked Ed if he had a brother named Tom. He smiled as shook his head and said "yes". I went on to tell him that I knew Tom, my Mother and I had worked with him at Hillsboro when he was the Assistant Principal and Tom was also my little sisters 6th grade teacher his first year teaching at Hillsboro. Ed just smiled and shook his head saying "yes, that’s my brother". I asked how Tom was doing; Ed proceeded to tell me with that same smile on his face.
Another day at trap practice I mentioned how well Elijah was doing, and again Ed smiled as he shook his head saying “Yes he is! All these kids make this look so easy”. As he stood there with such pride in his eyes and that same smile on his face; his eyes never lost sight of Elijah.
As we go about our lives we encounter all kinds of different people; each one has something new to teach to us. Whether it was something he taught to his family, his siblings, or someone he met at practice. What I learned about Ed as he spoke of his family was that he loved and enjoyed you all and only wanted the best for each of you! The way he showed me this was by the way he wore that smile on his face.

I knew of Ed in high school. We weren't friends, but we knew of each other, particularly in chorus class. He would pick on me, but was never malicious or mean-spirited about it...he was just, well, Ed. When he left school, and particularly after he married, I would run into him on occasion and would inwardly marvel how he had changed...mature, responsible, and yet still with a bit of mischievousness in his eye. Though we never became "friends" I am still glad I got to know him as I did, and his legacy will live on in his children. To Kim, them, and all touched by Ed, my heart and prayers to you.
And to Ed...I hope God hides all the cigarette lighters. 🙂

I am so blessed to have met the Ed Muzzey family. Ed, I will never forget you. Although we weren't close, ourselves, you were close to my Dad. My Dad respected you and truly enjoyed working with you and spoke often of how he wanted to work with you after he retired. But, God had other plans for him and took him back to Heaven before he could retire. I pray you both find each other up there and are talking tractors, hay, and cows. I will never forget you helping us after my Dad died. You are a great man, Ed. When I think of Ed, I think of my Dad.They were so much like each other. Working from sun up until sun down, and then some. You will be missed, Ed. Prayers for Kim, Elijah, Emma, Chloe and all the Muzzeys are coming. Blessings on you all during this difficult time.

I had the previlage to be a childhood friend of Luttle Ed's and be part of the Muzzey clan. As we age and forget what we had for supper or what we done yesterday, the one thing we remember forever are memories of our childhood. If we weren't getting into trouble wrecking grandma moores car, using home made slingshots to shoot all the windows out of big Ed's Volkswagen or hunting we were eating grandmas homemade cinnamon rolls and going on family camping trips. A month ago i met Ed for lunch to go over a foundation bid. We talked 5 min about the job then spent the next three hours talking about our childhood, politics, our country, farming and our families. In our conversation, it was obvious that he loved them all. God I am glad we had that meeting. My heart and prayers go out to Kim , his children, Dad and the rest of the Muzzey family. I will always remember my childhood buddy. Kevin Kronk

I remember meeting Ed when he was just a young teenager. We rented his GrandMothers farm house. He was always a hard working man but was good at times being just a teenager. He was dating a very nice @ beautiful young lady at that time by the name of Kim DeClue it was sweet watching these two grow so much togather and the love blooming you could tell that they were truly enlove with one another! These two angels found their soulmate of love then and it was wonderful to see them grow and become the most loving@giving Parents to 2 wonderful children. GOD BLESS @ KNOW GOD HAS A STRONGE ANGEL ON HIS SIDE! He will be with his Mom now and MAY HE REST IN PEACE. Love You Always EDDIE JR. LOVE YOU KIM
