Bodo P. Dirschuweit was born June 12, 1940 in Berlin, Germany a son to Heinz and Hedwig Dirschuweit. He died March 2, 2012 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center at the age of 71. Having immigrated and becoming a United States citizen at the age of 16 he worked as a baker and later as a carpenter. He retired as a Priest for the De Soto congregation of the New Apostolic Church where he also served as choir director and youth leader. He was also a member of Carpenters Local 2214. He is survived by his wife: Ruth (nee Shoemake) Dirschuweit, De Soto: three sons: Derek (Karen) Dirschuweit, Florissant, Doug (Ruth) Dirschuweit, San Antonio, Texas, and Dennis (Jeanne) Dirschuweit, De Soto; two daughters: Diana (Steve) Smith, Bourbon and Donna Baker, Sullivan; one step-son: Darwin (Dawn) Murray, West Plains; and two step-daughters: Charlyn (Jimmy) Waites, Poplar Bluff, and Angie Murray, Columbia, South Carolina; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Renate Streisel. Services will be officiated by Tony Bieser with burial to follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the De Soto New Apostolic Church and may be sent to the Funeral Home at 220 N. Main St. De Soto, MO 63020. |
