Samuel Milton “Sam” McKay, Jr. was born June 17, 1927, in De Soto, Missouri, a son to Samuel Milton McKay, Sr. and Annette Marie “Nettie” (nee Black) McKay. He died January 13, 2007, in De Soto, Missouri, having reached the age of 79 years, 6 months and 27 days. Sam was united in marriage to Wanda “Bonnie” Valle and to this union two children were born. Bonnie precedes him in death. He then married Mary E. (nee Missey) Whaley who survives. In addition to his parents, and first wife Bonnie, he is preceded in death by two sisters: Maxine Zoll and an infant sister; and by a step daughter, Nancy Wilkerson. Leaving to mourn Sam are his wife: Mary E. Whaley McKay of De Soto; son, Milton Allen (wife Carla) McKay of Festus; daughter, Ellen Marie McKay-Boyer of De Soto; four stepchildren: Bob Whaley, Richard Whaley, Dan Whaley and Susan Austin all of De Soto; six grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; one great grandchild and nine step great-grandchildren. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Soto; the Joachim Lodge AF&AM and Amvets Post #48, De Soto, MO. Sam served his County in the U. S. Army during WW-II. |
