John Kendl was born on November 13, 1938 in Podravska Moslavina, Yugoslavia. He was the son of Franjo & Elizabeta (nee Kupanovac) Kendl. He died on June 25, 2024 at his home in De Soto, MO at the age of 85. John is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Nassy) Kendl of Morrison, CO and Chris (Trinna) Kendl of Lafayette, LA; sister, Mary Breihan of De Soto, MO; grandchildren, Alexander (Regina) Kendl, Robert Kendl, Julia (Hunter) Byram, and Sarah (Andrew) Keene; great-grandchild, Grayson Kendl-Byram. John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis L. (nee Bardo) Kendl, and two brothers, Charlie Kendl and Louie Kendl. John was a retired cost analyst for Montgomery Ward and was a veteran of the United States Army. Above all, John was devoted to his family and cherished most his time with family. John helped his wife Phyllis run a number of family owned beauty salons throughout the years. He helped make them businesses where customers became part of the family. John was an avid collector and bargain hunter. His advice to others to be more frugal was always offered. John will always be remembered for his fun-loving spirit; hitting the dance floor, playing games with kids, and his willingness to always help others. |
