Chester Dean “Chet” Forshee was born in De Soto on June 21, 1950 a son to Chester and Pearl (nee Richardson) Forshee. He died at his Dittmer home on January 20, 2022 at the age 0f 71. He is survived by three children: Travis Forshee, Dittmer, Ginger (Brad) Counts, Dittmer and Shannon (Jonathan) Fusaro, Bishop, CA; grandchildren: Colton Forshee, Allie Forshee, Chris (Tracie) Counts, Justin Counts, Tyler (Kara) Counts and one granddaughter on the way; great grandchildren: Aiden, Grayson, Jason, Elinor, Emma and Nolan; four sisters: Catherine (Ken) Pennock, De Soto, Judy ( the late Allen) Sansoucie, Park Hills, Peggy (Rick) Fessler, Valles Mines and Myra Lawson, De Soto and a special friend Jeannie Ray. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister Wanda (Gordon) Mallery and two brothers Everett (Betty) Forshee and Gary Forshee. Chet grew up on the family farm on “Forshee Hill” which is where he developed his strong work ethic. He worked as a carpenter for The Jones Company as a loader for Morgan and White Quarry and maintenance director for Jefferson Resort.
