Raymond Paul Ehlen was born in St. Louis on June 5, 1947 a son to Clarence and Pauline (nee Ems) Ehlen. He died at his De Soto home on November 18, 2021 at the age of 74. He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years Joan (nee Mouser) Ehlen; four children: Eric (Celeste) Ehlen, De Soto, Sarah (Tony) Kessen, St. Louis County, Matt (Shannah) Ehlen, Manchester and Paul (Elizabeth) Ehlen, Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; two sisters: Geralyn (Tal Craft) Ehlen, Waterloo, IL and Juanita Ehlen, Barnhart and three brothers: Ronald (Barb) Ehlen, St. Clair, Robert “Bob” (Janice) Ehlen, De Soto and Wayne (Esther) Ehlen, Barnhart. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister Yvonne and her husband Clem Beel and two brothers: Bernie Ehlen and Anthony Ehlen. Ray proudly served his county in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and had worked as a Propane Gas Truck Driver and retired as a siding installer for Ehlen Construction.
