Delbert Dale Smith was born in Dixon MO on July 15, 1942 a son to Yale and Bernice (nee Lawson) Smith. He died at Mercy Hospital – Jefferson on September 26, 2021 at the age of 79. Dale had worked at Fisher Body before retiring from the General Motors Plant in Wentzville. He currently was the owner of Festus Music World. Music was one of Dale’s passions. He wrote music, produced music at his Winning Side Recording Studio and performed music as part of the Messengers of Hope and the Smith Family Singers. He is survived by his wife Lorna Fay (nee Raines) Smith, De Soto; three children: Alan (companion Jennifer) Smith, Sr., De Soto, Debra (Wesley) Waller, Cadet and Tim (Amanda) Smith, De Soto; his grandchildren: Alan Smith, Jr., Christina (Kevin) Giblin, Jacob (Josie) Young, James (Heather) Young, Hannah (T.J.) Robison, Aimee (Laramey) Tillman, Nathan Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Caleb Smith, Emily Smith, Luke Smith, Ethan Smith, Gideon Smith and Grace Smith; several great grandchildren; three sisters Diane (Sonny) Wolf, St. Peters, Donna (Dan) Thornton, Arnold, and Brenda (Bill) Walz, St. Peters and one brother Jim Smith of Steelville. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son Delbert Ray Smith whose wife Kim lives in De Soto; three sisters: June Gray, Carol Smith and Karen Fife whose husband lives in Fredericktown and one brother Harold Smith.
