James Edward Golden was born in Evansville, IN on October 20, 1935 a son to Wilbert M. and Marie (nee Holland) Golden. He died on October 2, 2019 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Elberta (nee Simmons) Golden, Hillsboro; six children: Tommy Golden, Hillsboro, Tim Herron, Hillsboro, Todd (Dianna) Golden, Byrnes Mill, Tonya (John) Youngblood, Cadet, Tracy Golden, Robertsville, and Terri (David) Fortner, De Soto; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; and one brother Guy William “Bill” (Barb) Golden, Cornelius, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter: Tami Roberts. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, was a farmer and later founded and was president of Unitron. He was a member of Joachim Lodge #164 A.F. and A.M. and First Free Will Baptist Church-De Soto.
