John Wayne Pratt was born March 2, 1941 in Ironton, MO. He was the son of Herbert and Lucille (nee Politte) Pratt. He passed on April 15, 2019 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson, Crystal City, MO at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife, Ethel (nee Wideman) Pratt, De Soto, MO; children, Cheryl (Kevin) Staley, Columbus, IN; Diane Wideman, De Soto, MO; and John W. (Mark) Pratt, II, St. Louis, MO; siblings, Charles (Ann) Pratt, Cadet, MO; Sylvester “Pill” (Verna) Pratt, Crystal City, MO; Rose Marie (Robert “Bob”) Morris, De Soto, MO; Doris (the late Red) Burr, De Soto, MO; Carolyn (the late Donald) Baugus, De Soto, MO; Elaine (Larry) Baldridge, Potosi, MO; half sister, Donna (Mark) Peters, and half brother, Mike Schutte, Potosi, MO; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Kevin) Nappier, Matthew (Theresa) Dickemann, Brandon (Amanda) Sloss, and Christopher (Amanda) Pratt; great-grandchildren, Charlie Mae, Theodore, Kylie, Conner, Ethan, and Caden. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nancy Weiss, Bernadette (Oscar) Wall, and Margarete (Paul survives) Miller; and one granddaughter, Mary Dickemann. John served in the U.S. Army and worked as a machinist at Lincoln Pentaire; he was a member of Amvets Post #48 and the First Baptist Church De Soto.
