Daniel Jack Queen of De Soto and Marco Island, FL was born on March 8, 1941 in De Soto, MO. He was the son of Francis Earl & Geneva (nee Lewis) Queen. He died on Thursday, July 20 at his home in De Soto at the age of 76.
Jack is survived by his wife Joyce (nee Boyer) Queen; Jack and Joyce were married in De Soto on April 20, 1963; two daughters, Andrea (Tim) Sampson of Fenton and Natalie Queen of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Hannah, Maitland, Zach, Nathan, and Annaleigh; great granddaughter, Adelynn; one sister: Yvonne (Rick) Williams, Wentzville; three brothers: Ronald (the late Becky) Queen of Festus, Kenneth (the late June) Queen of Grand Blanc, MI, and Russ (Rita) Queen of Potosi; and a sister-in-law: Pat Queen of Edwardsville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Fred E. Queen.
Jack had owned and operated eight IGA and Save-A-Lot Grocery Stores in the area and currently was the Director of Queen Enterprises. He had served on the Board of Directors of the State Bank of De Soto, Southside National Bank, and Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, AmVets Post #48, B.P.O.E. #689, and the Island Country Club, Marco Island, FL. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
