Melvin Mehler

Melvin W. Mehler was born Oct. 4, 1926 in St. Louis, MO a son to Arthur Fred and Catherine (nee Filsinger) Mehler.  He died Dec. 19, 2009 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center at the age of 83.  On July 3, 1948 Melvin W Mehler and Virginia Cavanaugh were wed and from this union five children were born.  Mr. Mehler is survived by his wife Virginia; daughters Patty (Chris) Richardson, Donna (Kevin) Beech, Susann (Kurt) Bauche, and Carol (Oliver “B.J.”) Ising; a son Dennis (Deb) Mehler; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a bother Arthur “Bud” Mehler and a sister Norma Mehler.
Mr. Mehler was a member of AmVets Post #48 having served in the United States Army during World War II,  Bricklayers Local #1, Royal Neighbors of America. and the First Baptist Church of De Soto.  He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Bowling Hall of Fame and had bowled two 300 games.
