Kathleen Louise Westhoff

Kathleen “Kathy” Louise Westhoff, age 79, passed away on July 28, 2026, peacefully at her home in Webster Groves, Missouri.

Kathy was born January 9, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Denzil Earl and Louise Evelyn (nee Babb) Myers.

She is survived by one son, Matt Westhoff of De Soto; two daughters, Wendy (Michael) Zerega of Webster Groves, Missouri and Jennifer Wilson of O’Fallon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Andrew Zerega; Elsie Zerega; Ben Zerega and Hayden Wilson; three siblings, John (Barbara) Myers of Belleville, Illinois; Bonnie (Merlyn) Rieffer of De Soto, Missouri; Betsy Henry of De Soto, Missouri; and a sister-in-law, Joan Myers of Greensburg, Indiana.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Richard “Dick” Westhoff; her parents, Earl and Louise Myers; and one brother, Earl “Sammy” Myers.

Kathy was a secretary at De Soto High School for 25 years where she made many lifelong friends, happy memories and touched the lives of countless students. Following her school retirement, she served twelve years as a Court Clerk in the Jefferson County Circuit Clerk’s office in Hillsboro, Missouri. She later moved to Webster Groves, Missouri to be closer to her children and grandchildren, and became a longtime caregiver for her sweet “adopted” granddaughter, Audrey Dickey.

Beyond work, Kathy found joy in being creative. She loved to draw, paint, decorate cakes and assist her grandkids with costumes, birthday parties and school projects. She had a great imagination and could turn anything into something fun or clever. Over years of cheering on her grandkids at countless soccer, hockey and baseball games she developed into an avid sports fan, often knowing more about the Cardinals and the Blues than most other people in a room. She was friendly and quick with a smile and a kind word. She adored spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was outgoing and rarely met a stranger. She was a generous and positive member of every community to which she belonged – a beloved friend, neighbor and colleague. She was a passionate advocate for the rights and well-being of all people and wished for a world marked by compassion, empathy, respect, and kindness.

Kathy’s beautiful smile, creative talents, infectious enthusiasm and endless generosity will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
