Robert E. Wilmoth

Robert Eugene “Bob” Wilmoth was born on October 28, 1932 in Thebes, IL a son to Napoleon “Poly” and Mildred (nee Chism) Wilmoth.  He died at de Greef Hospice House on November 11, 2025 at the age of 93.  Bob served in the United States Army. On February 14, 1953 he married Phyllis Lundgren in Carbondale, IL. Bob and Phyllis were the love of each others life and were married for 58 years until she passed on March 3, 2011.  Bob worked as a Plasterer and was a proud member LiUNA Local #110 for over 75 years.  He also enjoyed working on his “Hobby Farm” here in De Soto. He is survived by three daughters: Cheryl Wilmoth, Affton, Cindy Somogye, Chesterfield and Angela (Gene) Meyer, Thompsonville, MI; Five grandchildren: T.R. Minard, Anthony “Tony” Viliocco, Kendra (Seth) Dompierre, Kirstin (Carl) Meyer-Kaiser and Wesley (Catie) Meyer and three great grandchildren: Alyssa Minard, Holly Minard and Henry Dompierre.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Phyllis; his sister Frances Evelyn “Sis” Freeman and five brothers: Lloyd Wilmoth, Glenn Wilmoth, John Wilmoth, Murle Wilmoth and Earl Wilmoth.
