Robert E. Young

Robert Edward Young was born on February 20, 1925 in De Soto a son to Otto and Effie (nee Nussbaumer) Young. He died on May 10, 2025 at Mercy Hospital-South having reached the age of 100. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Wanda (nee Roberson); two sisters: Marie Goodwin and Delphine Reese and one brother Melvin Young. Bob was a World War II Veteran. He had retired from Sachs Electric and a Life Member of AmVets Post #48 and B.P.O.E. Lodge #689. He was baptized at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto. Bob enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and bird watching and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and was a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. He is survived by his step daughter Iris (Jerry Hartman) Bernhardt; three grandchildren: Tarrole (Felix) Milfeld, Todd (Terri) Bernhardt and Trent (Larysa) Bernhardt; great grandchildren Kyle (Kimberley), Harrison, Morgan (Nathan), Brandon, Taylor, Illya and Allie; great great grandchildren: Leaghton, Lola and Loic and several nieces and nephews including one special nephew Ron Young, De Soto.
