Rockne E. Barnett

Rockne Eugene “Rock” Barnett was born in Bloomington, IL on September 5, 1958 a son to Dallas Eugene and Merriell JoAnne (McWilliams) Barnett. He died at his Blackwell home on April 13, 2025 at the age of 66.

He is survived by his wife Elisabeth Ann (nee Cole) Barnett; two daughters: Tara (Daniel Anderson) Barnett, St. Louis, MO and Tessica (Ryan) Reigstad, Madison, WI; three grandchildren: Kaylee Anderson, Walker Reigstad and Emilia Reigstad; his siblings: Connie (Doug) Sherman-Ward, Iowa City, IA, Tracey (Gandi) Sherman-Falcon, Aurora, IL, Angie (Doug) Sovich, Atlantic Beach, FL, Jennifer (Brian) Budny, Lombard, IL, Scott Barnett, Bloomington, IL and Debbie Barnett-Moore, Heyworth, IL as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Rock has retired from operating his business Rock’s Carpet Service and was a lifelong fan of Rock-n-Roll music. He enjoyed being outdoors working on his property, building and fixing things, and working in his shop. He was the rock of his family, whether it was planning and preparing meals or building a new kids toy. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and all of his family. He will be missed by everyone he knew. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
