Melody Scharnhorst Bailey

Melody Bailey was born in St. Louis on April 11, 1952 a daughter to Norbert and Lucille (nee Hagenbaumer) Scharnhorst.  She died on February 27, 2022 at Mercy Hospital-Jefferson at the age of 69.  Melody had worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at several area hospitals.  She enjoyed gardening and helping others whether it be cooking for them or just performing random acts of kindness. She “fiercely” loved her family and was proud to have registered as an organ donor.  She is survived by her daughter Jennifer “Beth” (James “Jim”) Goode, De Soto; three grandsons: Nickolas Paul, Jacob (Shelby) Goode and Avery Goode; three great grandchildren: David, Xavier, and Wyatt and their mother Tara Smith; a sister Suzanne (the late William) Bryan, Fenton; and a brother Dwight (Rea) Scharnhorst, Fenton.  She was a beloved aunt, cousin and friend.  She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother Norbert Scharnhorst and his wife Sandra and a brother Michael Scharnhorst whose wife Kathy lives in High Ridge.  As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 406 N Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO  63141 or the December 5th Fund, 9842 Manchester Road, Suite B, Webster Groves, MO  63119.
